Project Goal

Clear navigation is essential for a website. A neat categorisation leads to a shorter reaction time from the users, and more chance of conversion, especially from those who casually stroll over a site looking to buy something but still don't have a clear idea.

The objective of the task was to create easier navigation that could engage the audience, drive them to spend more time on the website, and match the requirements of an SEO campaign.

The starting point

The original Printerpix menu wasn't structured to facilitate choices and had some original design flows, such as a scrolling bar to go through a list of products, which was hard to notice and interact with due to the length and the weird sorting order.

Many users, including the same company employees, were continuously getting lost while accessing a specific product page.

The redesign

Based on marketing research and competitor analysis, I've identified the best approach was to propose a series of categories to engage customers that still had to form an idea of what kind of gift they were looking for.

These categories permitted access to more pages than before, creating instances of the same product but customised based on the user's selection. The same generic blanket page would become a "blanket for him" or a "blanket for her", with specific images and text to engage the audience and a direct match for the SEO campaign keywords.

Also, the menu now could show more information, such as the percentage offer and a search bar.

The mobile version

The same principle was easily applied to the mobile version, creating even more opportunities, like the introduction of the "design shop", the option for purchasing some products from the shelf without customisation.
